Product Description

Eterra HST-1000 Boom String Trimmer

Trim grass and weeds along fence lines, tree rows, buildings, and other edges without putting an operator on the ground with a handheld trimmer. The Eterra HST-1000 mounts to a compatible boom tube and uses auxiliary hydraulic power to turn a 24 in. cutting path. At 75 lb, the head stays light enough for placement work while giving the carrier operator a clear view of the area being cut.

What hydraulic flow does the HST-1000 need?

The listed operating range is 5 to 15 GPM, with head speed up to 3500 RPM. A supplied flow divider lets the operator tune head speed to the carrier instead of sending full auxiliary flow to the motor. The assembly also includes a pressure relief valve for motor protection. Confirm the machine's operating flow and pressure, not just its peak rating, before connecting the trimmer.

Where can the boom trimmer work?

The 24 in. cutting path is useful for mowing close to posts, trunks, walls, guardrails, and other obstacles that are slow to finish by hand. Boom placement lets the operator approach an edge from the cab and keep the carrier on firmer ground. This head is intended for grass and weed trimming. Do not treat string-line capacity as a brush-cutter rating.

How does the line setup work?

The head uses Vortex Stealth R601 line in 0.155 in. / 3.9 mm diameter. The heavier line and purpose-built head are matched to the trimmer's hydraulic speed. Keep the correct replacement line on hand, inspect the head before each shift, and replace damaged or uneven lengths before running the attachment. Shut the carrier down and relieve hydraulic pressure before servicing the head.

What should be checked before ordering?

  • Verify 5 to 15 GPM auxiliary flow at the intended boom circuit.
  • Measure the boom tube and confirm that the supplied tube clamp is appropriate.
  • Plan hose length, routing, couplers, and protection through the full boom movement.
  • Account for the 75 lb attachment weight at maximum reach.
  • Keep people, animals, vehicles, and glass clear of the discharge area.

The standard listing includes the HST-1000 head, tube-style clamp, flow divider, and pressure relief protection. Carrier-specific hoses, couplers, or mounting changes may be needed. Need help checking the boom and hydraulic circuit? Send SSC your machine model, flow specifications, boom-tube dimensions, and photos through our contact page. For heavier clearing work, compare purpose-built options in skid steer land-clearing attachments.
